Placements24 is seeking a talented Pastry Chef to lead the dessert and bakery program for luxury catering in Pretoria. You will craft exquisite pastries, breads, and desserts, ensuring exceptional taste, texture, and presentation to elevate high-end events.

You will collaborate with the Head Chef to design innovative menus, manage pastry inventory, and uphold strict hygiene standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or Baker in a professional kitchen, preferably in a catering or fine dining environment.
• Strong knowledge of baking and pastry techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
• Creative flair with an excellent eye for detail and presentation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in managing inventory and controlling costs for the pastry section.
• Relevant culinary qualifications are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and prepare a wide range of high-quality pastries, desserts, cakes, and baked goods for catering events.
• Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation of all pastry items produced.
• Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu creation, providing innovative pastry suggestions.
