The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of pastry experience, strong techniques, and a passion for dessert artistry and presentation. Cape Town relocation is supported for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as Pastry Chef or Assistant Pastry Chef, preferably in fine dining or luxury patisserie.
• Proficiency in classic and contemporary pastry techniques.
• Strong understanding of baking science and ingredient functions.
• Portfolio showcasing range of pastry creations is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Create and produce high-quality pastries, desserts, breads, and confections for a luxury patisserie in Cape Town.
• Develop new recipes and product lines, staying current with dessert trends and techniques.
• Ensure products meet top taste, texture, and visual standards.
• Manage pastry section: ordering, inventory, and cost control.
• Uphold strict hygiene and food safety standards in pastry production.
• Collaborate with Head Chef on menu planning and special orders.
• Train and mentor junior pastry team members to foster learning and excellence.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen and equipment.
