Placements24 presents a Pastry Chef role with a premier catering house in Cape Town. The successful candidate will lead the pastry division, craft desserts for high-end events, and ensure presentation excellence across menus.

You will design and refine pastry menus, source ingredients, manage inventory, and mentor junior pastry staff while maintaining strict hygiene and quality standards in a fast-paced kitchen.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Pastry Chef in high-volume catering or luxury settings.
• Extensive pastry skills in baking, decorating, chocolate work and sugar artistry.
• Knowledge of recipe development, costing, and ingredient sourcing.

Responsabilités

• Design, prepare, and execute a wide range of pastries, desserts, cakes and baked goods for events.
• Develop pastry recipes, ensure consistency in quality, taste and presentation.
• Source ingredients and manage pastry inventory with cost-consciousness.
• Collaborate with Head Chef and events team to integrate pastry into menus.
• Maintain hygiene and food safety standards in the pastry kitchen.
• Train and supervise junior pastry staff and commis chefs.
• Stay updated with pastry trends and techniques to elevate offerings.
• Ensure timely workflow and meet event deadlines.
