Job summary

African Echoes Recruitment is seeking an experienced Reservationist for a luxury 5-star Big 5 game lodge based in Rivonia, Gauteng. The role supports the Head Office in managing reservations, guest enquiries and booking administration with a focus on professional guest communication.

You will handle direct inquiries, travel-agent and DMC requests, maintain rates and availability, and ensure accurate guest records while coordinating with lodge teams.

Qualifications

• Previous reservations experience in luxury lodge, hotel or hospitality.
• Strong knowledge of reservations procedures and booking administration.
• Strong reservations-system experience.
• Excellent telephone and email communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong sales and commercial awareness.
• Excellent guest service and interpersonal skills.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Professional, reliable and able to work under pressure.
• Ability to participate in rotational after-hours standby from home.

Responsibilities

• Manage direct, travel-agent and DMC enquiries from quotation through to booking confirmation.
• Process new bookings, amendments and cancellations.
• Maintain accurate rates, availability, booking records and guest information.
• Calculate quotations, commissions, deposits and outstanding balances accurately.
• Manage provisional bookings and follow-ups.
• Communicate professionally with guests, agents and DMCs.
• Coordinate with lodge teams to ensure accurate guest handovers.
• Ensure guest information and special requests are accurately recorded.
• Maintain professional relationships with guests and trade partners.
• Provide accurate reporting on booking activity and outstanding enquiries.
• Participate in rotational after-hours standby duty from home telephonically.
