Job summary

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced Assistant F&B Manager for a luxury hotel in the KZN Midlands. The role focuses on supporting the F&B management team to deliver premium dining and beverage experiences, with responsibility for service excellence, staff leadership, and operational cost control.

The successful candidate will oversee daily operations across outlets, manage scheduling and training, and collaborate with kitchen and other departments to ensure seamless service and guest

Qualifications

• Experience in an Assistant F&B Manager, F&B Supervisor or similar management position.
• Experience in a luxury hotel, lodge or high-end hospitality environment is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of restaurant and beverage operations.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong understanding of guest service and luxury hospitality standards.
• Knowledge of stock control, cost management and F&B administration.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Organisational and multitasking abilities.
• Hands-on approach and ability to lead from the floor.
• Passion for food and beverage and delivering memorable guest experiences.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the overall management of the hotel's Food & Beverage operations.
• Support the F&B Manager in ensuring smooth and efficient daily service.
• Supervise and motivate F&B staff, ensuring professional service standards are maintained.
• Assist with staff scheduling, training and performance management.
• Ensure excellent guest service and respond to guest feedback and requests.
• Monitor restaurant and beverage operations during service periods.
• Ensure all outlets are presented to luxury standards.
• Assist with stock control, ordering and inventory management.
• Monitor wastage, portion control and operational costs.
• Assist with maintaining departmental budgets and achieving revenue targets.
• Ensure all food safety, hygiene and health and safety standards are upheld.
• Work with kitchen and other departments to ensure seamless service.
• Assist with functions, conferences and special events.
• Lead by example and maintain a professional working environment.
• Step into the F&B Manager's role when required.
