The President Hotel in Bantry Bay, Cape Town, is seeking a guest-focused Bartender who brings beverage knowledge, attention to detail and a passion for hospitality to our bar team. As we continue our journey toward luxury, you will prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, connect with guests and recommend drinks that enhance their experience.

Formación

• Grade 12 is required.
• Minimum 1 year bartending experience in a fast-paced environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, beers, wines, spirits and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Ability to follow drink recipes accurately and maintain quality and presentation.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and guest service skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritise and stay professional under pressure.
• Familiarity with restaurant management software and POS systems.
• Basic maths skills and cash handling experience is advantageous.
• Minimum 21 years of age.

Responsabilidades

• Take accurate drink orders at the bar and in designated seating areas.
• Prepare and serve beverages using correct ingredients, equipment and glassware.
• Recommend drinks based on guest preferences and assist with menu choices and dietary requirements.
• Check identification when serving alcohol.
• Build guest relationships, remember preferences and anticipate needs.
• Handle guest concerns calmly and professionally.
• Upsell and cross-sell beverages and menu items to help meet revenue targets.
• Support promotions and revenue initiatives with the management team.
• Keep the bar clean, organised and stocked, including cleaning equipment and sanitation procedures.
• Participate in daily stock takes, report wastage and assist with supply orders.
• Report equipment faults and maintenance requirements to Bar Manager.
