Job summary

The Silo Hotel in Cape Town is seeking a Barista to craft exceptional coffees and beverages, delivering a personalised guest experience that reflects The Royal Portfolio's standards.

Maintain the coffee station, ensure quality and presentation, handle POS and stock, and work with the F&B team to deliver seamless service. Requires 2+ years in a luxury setting, excellent English, and a calm, flexible work approach.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience bartending in a luxury 5 star hotel or restaurant.
• Experience handling POS terminals and stock/inventory software.
• Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).
• Positive interpersonal skills and a passion to serve guests.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and work long hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Proven reliability, diligence and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and drive improvement, with international experience considered a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver warm, personalised guest service and anticipate needs.
• Prepare and serve specialty coffees and beverages to high standards.
• Own and maintain the coffee station, keep area clean and well presented.
• Demonstrate product knowledge and upsell beverages and offerings.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management.
• Follow recipes, quality standards and hygiene requirements.
• Process orders and payments accurately via POS.
• Collaborate with F&B team for smooth service.
• Stay informed on global coffee trends and innovations.
• Represent The Royal Portfolio's values in all interactions.
