Job summary

HotelJobs is seeking an experienced Sous Chef for a prestigious 5-star game lodge in Hoedspruit, Limpopo. You will lead a professional culinary team, manage kitchen operations and maintain exceptional fine-dining standards in a luxury safari setting.

Responsibilities include menu development, food costing and ensuring impeccable presentation, hygiene and guest experience. Accommodation is included in the salary package.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a Sous Chef or senior Chef position within a reputable 5-star hotel, luxury lodge or fine-dining establishment.
• Strong fine-dining experience is essential.
• Knowledge of contemporary cuisine and modern culinary techniques.
• Experience in African cuisine and luxury safari dining would be highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Executive/Head Chef with overall management and operation of the kitchen.
• Ensure consistently high standards of fine-dining food preparation, presentation and service.
• Supervise, motivate and develop the kitchen brigade.
• Assist with menu planning, recipe development and seasonal dishes.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene and presentation.
• Assist with food costing, stock control, ordering and minimising wastage.
• Work with Front of House to ensure a seamless guest dining experience.
• Take responsibility for the kitchen in the absence of the Executive/Head Chef.
