Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for logistics services (transportation, warehousing, customs brokerage).

About the Role

Our client is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Logistics Sourcing Specialist to join their team on a contract basis, operating on a hybrid model in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga . This role is crucial for identifying, evaluating, and onboarding third-party logistics (3PL) providers, carriers, and freight forwarders to support the company's supply chain needs. You will be responsible for developing sourcing strategies, negotiating contracts, and managing relationships with logistics partners to ensure cost-effectiveness, service quality, and compliance. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, a deep understanding of the logistics market, and the ability to drive value through strategic sourcing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for various logistics services, including transportation, warehousing, and customs brokerage.
• Identify potential logistics providers, conduct RFPs (Requests for Proposals), and evaluate supplier capabilities and performance.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions for logistics contracts, ensuring favorable agreements for the company.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in logistics sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
• Proven track record of successfully sourcing and negotiating contracts with 3PL providers and carriers.
• In-depth knowledge of the logistics and transportation market, including pricing structures and industry best practices.
• Strong analytical, financial, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.
• Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
• Experience working within the Mpumalanga logistics sector is a plus.
