About the Role

Our client, a prominent player in the global logistics and supply chain industry, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead critical initiatives focused on optimization and efficiency. This role is essential for streamlining operations, reducing costs, and enhancing service delivery across our extensive network. You will manage complex projects involving warehouse management systems, transportation optimization, and inventory control strategies. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics, project management best practices, and a proven track record of delivering significant operational improvements. Based in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, this position requires a dedicated on-site presence to effectively manage diverse operational challenges and team coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end management of projects aimed at optimizing logistics and supply chain operations.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, resource allocation, and timelines.
• Manage cross-functional teams, including operations, IT, and finance, to ensure project success.
• Oversee project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure cost-effective implementation of solutions.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and operational challenges.
• Implement and manage change initiatives to ensure smooth adoption of new processes and systems.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements and provide project updates.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and quality protocols.
• Monitor project performance using key metrics and KPIs, reporting on progress and outcomes to senior leadership.
• Drive continuous improvement efforts within the logistics and supply chain functions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in project management within the logistics and supply chain domain.
• Demonstrated success in managing complex projects related to warehouse operations, transportation, and inventory management.
• Strong understanding of supply chain principles, methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma), and technologies.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in supply chain management software (e.g., WMS, TMS, ERP) and project management tools.
• Experience managing large-scale operational projects is essential.
• APICS or similar supply chain certifications are highly desirable.
• Ability to work effectively on-site and manage diverse operational teams.
• Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
