Placements24 is seeking a Logistics Planner to optimise our distribution network across the Eastern Cape. This largely remote role offers flexibility with occasional travel to distribution centres.

You will forecast demand, manage carrier relationships, and drive cost-effective transport and warehousing strategies to support store growth. The ideal candidate has a 4+ year track record in logistics planning, strong analytical abilities, and proficiency with TMS/WMS and advanced Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in logistics planning, supply chain management, or transportation management.
• Proven experience in designing and optimizing distribution networks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic logistics plans for regional distribution in the Eastern Cape.
• Analyze transportation data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve delivery efficiency.
• Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and freight carriers, negotiating rates and ensuring SLAs are met.
• Optimize warehouse operations and inventory management to support distribution needs.
• Forecast transportation requirements based on sales data and market trends.
• Coordinate with procurement, sales, and operations teams to ensure seamless supply chain flow.
• Monitor KPIs for logistics operations and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Utilize advanced logistics planning software to model and simulate distribution scenarios.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Proactively identify and resolve potential disruptions in the supply chain.
