Job summary

EnableSA seeks an experienced Logistics Manager – Citrus/Agriculture for its Port Elizabeth team. You will manage shipping line relationships, communicate vessel schedules and determine the best vessel and port based on customer requirements, cost, and transit times.

You will monitor vessel changes, plan container loading with providers, and coordinate with packhouses and cold stores to ensure timely stock flow and accurate allocations across customers.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills for daily contact with shipping lines, packhouses and customers
• Hands-on, hardworking approach with ownership of execution
• Experience in logistics, shipping or supply chain is required
• Grade12 and a university degree are preferred qualifications
• Driver's licence and own transport are required

Responsibilities

• Manages shipping line relationships from an operational perspective
• Communicates vessel schedules and available space with shipping lines
• Evaluates options to determine best vessel and port by customer needs, cost and transit time
• Monitors vessel changes, delays, transshipments and shipping risks
• Plans container requirements and loading schedules with logistics providers
• Coordinates loading with packhouses, cold stores and providers
• Ensures stock is available at correct location for customer allocations
• Works with Demand Planner and production teams on upcoming supply and harvest volumes

• Monitorvessel changes, delays, transshipments and other shipping risks with supportfrom the customer representatives and logistics coordinators
• Plancontainer requirements
• Ensure thecorrect fruit is allocated to the correct customer and vessel
• Managecontainer loading schedules in conjunction with our logistics providers
• Coordinateloading requirements with packhouses, cold stores and logistics providers
• Plan movementof fruit from packhouse to cold store
• Monitorcold-store capacity, communicate with cold stores regarding daily stock flowin/out the cold stores
• Preventunnecessary congestion in the supply chain
• Ensure stockis available at the correct location when required
• Managecustomer allocations from a logistics perspective – Ensure the logisticscoordinators action the allocations per the pack and commercial plans.
• Ensure fruitis allocated against the correct customer requirements and planned against thecorrect vessel
• Work backwardfrom the required customer ETA to determine loading and shipping requirements
• Constantcommunication with the supply and commercial teams
• Work with theDemand Planner and production teams to understand upcoming supply
• Planlogistics requirements against expected harvest and packing volumes
• Ensuresufficient logistics capacity is available for expected production
  

Requirements

• UniversityDegree
• At least 3-5years’ relevant experience in logistics, shipping or supply chain
• A hands-on,hardworking approach; this role owns execution, not just planning
• Strongcommunication skills for daily contact with shipping lines, packhouses andcustomers
• Valid driver’slicence and own transport
• Experience inthe citrus or fresh produce export industry is a strong advantage
