About the Role

Our client, a prominent winery in the Stellenbosch region, is seeking a detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to manage the transportation and delivery of their renowned wines. This hybrid role involves coordinating shipments both domestically and internationally, ensuring timely and safe arrival of products while adhering to strict industry regulations. You will work closely with the production, sales, and export teams to streamline logistics processes and maintain high service standards. The ideal candidate has a passion for the wine industry, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, contributing to the smooth flow of goods from vineyard to customer.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of wine shipment, including booking carriers, managing documentation, and tracking deliveries.
• Ensure compliance with all national and international shipping regulations, including customs and import/export laws specific to alcoholic beverages.
• Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and trucking companies to secure the best rates and service.
• Maintain accurate records of all shipments, inventory movements, and associated costs.
• Collaborate with the sales team to provide delivery status updates and resolve any logistical issues promptly.
• Optimize packaging and shipping methods to ensure product integrity and minimize damage during transit.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Logistics Coordinator or in a similar role, preferably within the wine or beverage industry.
• Strong understanding of international shipping procedures, customs, and documentation.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency in logistics software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams and external partners.
