Job summary

Ceres Koelkamers in the Schoonvlei industrial area, Ceres, is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to join their team. The successful candidate will bring a practical and proactive approach, strong attention to detail, and comfort working in a fast-paced environment.

You will manage pallet stock, coordinate dispatches to export and local markets, optimise cold room space, monitor temperatures and lead the logistics team. Willingness to work overtime and weekends is required.

Qualifications

• Matric is required; a relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous.
• Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in the fruit industry or a packhouse/logistics environment.
• Own transport and a valid Code 8 driver’s licence.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required.

Responsibilities

• Managing and controlling pallet stock.
• Coordinating the complete and accurate dispatch of pallets to export and local markets according to loading instructions.
• Managing and optimising cold room space.
• Monitoring and managing cold room temperatures.
• Managing and coordinating personnel.
• Liaising with packhouses and marketers.
• All other duties relevant to the position.

Education

Matric is required; relevant tertiary qualification advantageous

The successful candidate will have a practical and proactive approach, strong attention to detail, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The role requires someone who can work independently, take responsibility, and perform effectively under pressure.

Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:

• Matric is required, a relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous;
• Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in the fruit industry or a packhouse/logistics environment;
• Basic technical skills and interest;
• Own transport and a valid Code 8 driver’s licence;
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required.
