Responsibilities

• Prepare, source, and manage logistics quotations (transport, warehousing, spares, repairs, OEM services, customs) and route through SAP approvals.
• Capture and track project logistics across SAP, Service Management Now, and ITM systems.
• Translate project scopes into detailed logistics and MRP plans to ensure availability of equipment and consumables.
• Identify logistics risks and communicate mitigation plans, ETAs, and escalation points to project managers.
• Monitor logistics expenditure against budgets and support cost tracking and reporting.
• Ensure project close-out, asset reconciliation, and documentation archival.

Job description

PURPOSE:

Responsible for the overall control and management of the logistics function of the company involving inventory control within the geographic location of South Africa.

FORMAL EDUCATION:

• Grade 12
• Qualification (NQF 4) in Logistics/ Stock Control/ Store Keeping / Warehouse Management (advantageous)

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 2 – 5 years' experience in logistics /stock control/ store keeping / warehouse management

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE/OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Driver's license with reliable transport (advantageous)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Project Logistics Coordination: Plan, coordinate, and execute end-to-end logistics activities for project-based work, including procurement, staging, delivery, deployment, return, and close‑out of project materials and assets. Ensure alignment to project timelines, milestones, and contractual SLAs.
• Quotation & Costing Management: Prepare, source, and manage logistics-related quotations (transport, warehousing, spares, repairs, OEM services, customs, and special handling). Analyse costs, obtain competitive quotes from approved vendors, and route quotations through SAP and applicable approval matrices for authorisation. Ensure quote accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness.
• System-Driven Project Control: Capture, track, and manage all project logistics activities across SAP, Service Management Now, and ITM systems, ensuring accurate job referencing, material allocation, movement tracking, status updates, and system closure upon project completion.
• Material Planning for Projects: Translate project scopes and Bills of Material (BOMs) into detailed logistics and MRP plans. Ensure timely availability of required equipment, spares, and consumables to support project delivery without delays or cost overruns.
• Risk & Dependency Management: Proactively identify logistics risks (stock shortages, lead-time delays, transport constraints, warranty expiry risks) within project environments and communicate mitigation plans, ETAs, and escalation points to project managers and stakeholders.
• Project Cost Control & Optimisation: Monitor logistics expenditure against project budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities (consolidation, alternative routing, vendor optimisation), and support accurate cost tracking, accruals, and financial reporting for projects.
• Project Close‑Out & Compliance: Ensure all project logistics activities are fully reconciled, assets accounted for, systems updated, warranties closed, and documentation archived in accordance with contractual, governance, and audit requirements.
