Job summary

Blacksmith Agency LLC is seeking an LLM Engineer to own and ship our internal automation roadmap. This builder role focuses on production systems on top of LLMs, not training models.

You’ll collaborate with engineering and delivery leadership to turn a documented roadmap into shipped workflows. You bring 2+ years producing software in Python or Node.js, hands-on with LangChain/LangGraph and API integrations with OpenAI or Anthropic, REST APIs and cloud deployment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI or AutoGen.
• Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use, streaming).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and basic cloud deployment.
• English sufficient for async written work with a US-based team.

Responsibilities

• Build agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent.
• Integrate with OpenAI and Anthropic APIs including tool use and function calling.
• Develop internal tools to reduce manual hours across design and development workflows.
• Create automation pipelines connecting WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and our CMS.
• Work on MCP server integrations as part of the AI stack.

About The Role

Blacksmith Agency is building an AI automation layer into every part of how we work. As LLM Engineer at Blacksmith, you own and ship our internal automation roadmap. This is a builder role, not a research role. You will not be training models, you will be building production systems on top of them. You work directly with engineering and delivery leadership to take a documented roadmap of automation workflows and turn them into shipped, working systems. This role is for someone who has already built things with LLMs and can show it.
