Job summary

Blacksmith Agency is building an AI automation layer across our work processes. As an LLM Engineer you will own and ship the internal automation roadmap, turning a documented plan into production systems. This is a builder role, not a research role.

You will work with engineering and delivery leadership to deliver end-to-end automation workflows, leveraging LangChain/LangGraph and APIs with OpenAI/Anthropic.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar agent frameworks.
• Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use, streaming).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and basic cloud deployment.
• English sufficient for async written work with a US-based team.

Responsibilities

• Build agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent frameworks.
• Integrate with Anthropic and OpenAI APIs including tool use and function calling.
• Develop internal tools to reduce manual hours in design and development processes.
• Create automation pipelines connecting WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and our CMS.
• Integrate MCP server as part of the AI stack.

About The Role

Blacksmith Agency is building an AI automation layer into every part of how we work. As LLM Engineer at Blacksmith, you own and ship our internal automation roadmap. This is a builder role, not a research role. You will not be training models, you will be building production systems on top of them. You work directly with engineering and delivery leadership to take a documented roadmap of automation workflows and turn them into shipped, working systems. This role is for someone who has already built things with LLMs and can show it.
