Job summary

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join a luxury lodge in Ceres, Western Cape, offering a live-in role and the opportunity to work alongside the Head Chef in delivering exceptional culinary experiences.

You will lead kitchen operations, mentor staff, contribute to menus, manage stocks and costs, and uphold excellent hygiene and service standards in a high-end hospitality setting.

Qualifications

• Formal culinary qualification or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience as Sous Chef in luxury hospitality.
• Strong leadership, organisation and communication skills.
• Creative, detail-oriented and passionate about high-quality cuisine.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Chef in managing kitchen operations and ensuring food quality and presentation.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff, fostering teamwork and development.
• Contribute to menu planning, seasonal sourcing, and cost control.
• Maintain hygiene, safety and high standards of service.
