Job summary

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join a luxury lodge in a remote setting. The candidate will work closely with the Head Chef to deliver exceptional culinary experiences and maintain high standards of service.

The role requires culinary qualifications, leadership, and the ability to thrive under pressure in a beautiful, secluded location. Live-in accommodation is provided as part of a prestigious lodge environment.

Qualifications

• Formal culinary qualification or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role within luxury hospitality.
• Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
• Creative and detail-oriented with a passion for high-quality cuisine.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and maintain professional standards.
• Willingness to live and work in a remote lodge environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in managing all kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, presentation, and consistency.
• Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering teamwork and professional development.
• Contribute to menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal and locally sourced ingredients.
• Monitor inventory, manage stock, and control food costs.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, health, and safety regulations within the kitchen.
• Support the Head Chef in maintaining organisation, efficiency, and high standards of service.
• Assist with food preparation for a la carte, buffet, and special events as required.
