Job summary

Placements24 seeks a competent Legal Advisor focused on litigation to join the legal department in Queenstown. You will manage and guide the company through disputes, prepare cases, and advise on litigation strategy to protect the company’s interests.

The ideal candidate holds a South African Admitted Attorney status with strong advocacy and research skills, capable of proactive management of civil and commercial matters within the Eastern Cape region.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa with a minimum of 4 years' litigation experience.
• Experience in managing civil and commercial litigation matters.
• Strong understanding of court rules, procedures, and evidence law.
• Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively.

Responsibilities

• Manage all stages of litigation, from initiating proceedings to settlement or trial.
• Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, affidavits, and other relevant court documents.
• Advise management on litigation risks, strategies, and potential outcomes.
• Represent the company in court, before tribunals, and in alternative dispute resolution processes.
• Liaise with external legal counsel, witnesses, and relevant parties throughout litigation.
