Job summary

Supreme Processing in Gauteng seeks a Line Quality Assurance Controller to enforce quality standards and procedures within the Quality department (FP2 Plant). The successful candidate will report directly to the Quality HOD.

Requirements include Grade 12, 1+ years in meat processing, and advantageous food safety training. Strong attention to detail, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently are essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric) is required.
• 1+ years' experience in meat processing (new graduates in food processing).
• Food safety training and experience will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of food safety practices.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Understanding of applicable statutory standards in the workplace.
• Detail oriented with effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Quality Control Program.
• Carry out duties as described in duty sheets.
• Follow management instructions regarding quality and hygiene.
• Record start up requirements and relevant checks.
• Record and verify metal detector rejects.
• Verify detection of metal and conduct critical checks.
• Perform daily KPIs and pickups.
• Measure batter viscosity.
• Communicate product rejection and actions to QA HOD.
• Measure % TPM of oil and ensure QA compliance.
• Ensure tests, results, and modifications are documented.
• Adhere to Daily Hygiene check list and maintain clean clothing.
• Ensure equipment is cleaned, washed, sterilized and stored properly.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain the Quality Control Program
• Carry out duties as described in duty sheets
• Carry out instructions given to Management regarding quality and hygiene.
• Responsible for performing and recording relevant start up requirements
• Record rejects from metal detector
• Verification of the non-conformance rejects from the metal detector
• Verification for the detection of metal
• Conducting critical checks
• Conducting daily KPIs and Pick-ups
• Measuring batter viscosity
• Responsible to ensure the product rejection is communicated to QA HOD and recorded on KPI and corrective action.
• Responsible for measuring the %TPM of oil
• Ensuring Quality Assurance compliance objectives and ensuring that targets are achieved
• Ensuring compliance with national standards and legislation
• Maintaining quality controls and documentation procedures
• Ensuring tests are carried out, results evaluated and that product modifications are investigated if necessary
• Ensure you adhere strictly to the Daily Hygiene check list and that clothing is always clean and neat
• Ensure that clean equipment is used inside the factory always
• Ensure washing, rinsing and sterilize of equipment is happening as per procedure
• Ensure that product is stored at the correct temperatures
• Follow all policies and procedures relating to Food Safety as adopted by the Company
