Job summary

PlaceTalent in Gauteng seeks a seasoned lighting sales professional to generate and secure new business across commercial, industrial, retail and architectural sectors. You will develop strong relationships with engineers, architects, contractors and end users while managing the full sales cycle from lead to project completion.

You will provide expert lighting advice, specifications and quotations, read and interpret plans, and leverage your network to exceed targets.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' hands-on, site-based experience in commercial lighting.
• Showroom or general retail lighting sales experience will not be sufficient.
• Strong knowledge of the lighting and construction industries.
• Established network within the lighting, electrical, construction, architectural and/or engineering sectors.
• Proven ability to convert relationships with engineers, architects and consultants into commissioned business.
• Strong ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical and lighting plans and drawings.
• Proven sales track record with the ability to meet and exceed targets.
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Commercially focused, proactive and target-driven.

Responsibilities

• Generate and secure new business across the commercial, industrial, retail and architectural sectors.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with engineers, consulting engineers, architects, contractors, developers and end users.
• Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through to project completion.
• Provide expert lighting advice, technical support, specifications and quotations.
• Identify opportunities to grow existing key accounts.
• Achieve and exceed agreed sales targets.
• Convert industry relationships and project opportunities into profitable business.
• Provide commercially focused solutions aligned with client and project requirements.
