Job summary

Netsurit in Durban is seeking a Level 1 Desktop Engineer to join our IT team. You will deliver first-line technical support to end-users, troubleshoot desktop hardware and software, and maintain end-user experience.

You will install, configure, and update software, assist with hardware setups and basic repairs, and generate user-friendly documentation while providing remote and on-site support as needed.

Qualifications

• A relevant IT-related diploma, degree, or certification.
• Experience in level 1 desktop support is a plus.
• Strong communication andcustomer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line support to end-users for hardware, software, and network issues.
• Assist users with password resets, account setups, and access permissions.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot desktop hardware and software problems and provide timely resolutions.
• Escalate complex issues to senior staff while keeping users informed.
• Document solutions and troubleshooting steps clearly.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve cross-functional issues.
• Install, configure, and update software on desktops as required.
• Assist with hardware setups and basic repairs and upgrades.
• Create user-friendly documentation and provide basic training.
• Provide remote support to off-site users using remote tools.
