Job summary

Placements24 in Vereeniging is seeking an experienced Leisure Centre Operations Manager to lead day-to-day operations of the facility, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for members and visitors. You will oversee staff, manage budgets, implement policies, and drive member satisfaction and retention.

This is a key leadership role within the community, supporting health and wellness initiatives and coordinating recreational programs to attract and retain members.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in managing leisure centres, gyms, or similar facilities.
• Strong leadership, team management, and customer service.
• Budget management and operational planning experience.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in leisure facilities.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Relevant qualifications in sports/leisure management or business administration advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations, including facility maintenance, cleaning schedules, and equipment upkeep to ensure high standards.
• Manage a diverse team of staff, including reception, fitness instructors, and lifeguards, providing training, motivation, and performance management.
• Develop and manage operational budgets, controlling costs while maximizing revenue through membership sales and program offerings.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations, implementing and enforcing policies.
• Enhance member experience by addressing feedback, resolving complaints, and fostering a positive community atmosphere.
• Plan and execute diverse recreational programs and activities to attract and retain members.
