Job summary

The Skills Mine seeks a senior L&D professional to design and deliver complex, multi-stakeholder programmes. You will lead instructional design initiatives, blending in-person and digital modalities, with a strong emphasis on analytics and AI-enabled learning.

In Johannesburg, you will partner with senior stakeholders, perform training needs analyses, develop actionable recommendations, and ensure quality across the team while guiding the use of AI tools within L&D.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree is essential.
• 8 years’ experience in the design and delivery of complex or multi-stakeholder programmes.
• Postgraduate qualification in Learning & Development, Organisational Development, or Human Resources is preferred.
• Legal or professional services experience is preferred.
• Experience in instructional design and developing complex blended learning programmes.
• Experience conducting training needs analysis and developing actionable recommendations.
• Experience with Learning Management Systems and e-learning development tools.
• Strong facilitation and presentation skills across face-to-face and virtual environments.
• Knowledge of learning analytics, programme evaluation, and change management.
• Working knowledge of AI tools relevant to Learning & Development and the legal environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct training needs analyses for strategic programmes using competency frameworks, data, research, and stakeholder consultation.
• Design and develop complex blended and multi-modal learning interventions with key stakeholders.
• Build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders and provide trusted advice with limited supervision.
• Deliver L&D workstreams for strategic firm projects, contributing to design, delivery, and project management.
• Evaluate learning outcomes and programme effectiveness and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Share L&D expertise and maintain quality standards across the team.
• Provide informal guidance on operational excellence and the effective use of AI within L&D.
