Emgodini Mining Services invites suitably qualified candidates for the position of Surveyor Grade 3 at Rietberg Mine, near Springbok in the Northern Cape. The successful candidate reports to the Mine Overseer and will lead the surveying team to support mine planning operations.

Essential qualifications include Grade 12/NQF 4, Advanced Mine Surveying and Valuation Certificates, and proficiency in MS Office and surveying software.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent.
• Advanced Mine Surveying Certificate issued by the Chamber of Mines [Essential]
• Advanced Mine Valuation Certificate [Essential]
• MS Office proficient (Projects, Excel)
• Proficient in mine survey/planning software (Microstation advantageous)
• Proficient drawing and preparing survey notes, etc.
• Valid EB driver’s license
• Valid Medical Certificate of Fitness
• Physically fit to carry survey equipment
• Ability to supervise a team
• Good English verbal and written communication skills

Responsabilités

• Lead and supervise the surveying team to inform mine planning operations.
• Provide honest, effective survey and valuation services to support mine performance.
• Measure advances of faces and determine cubes and profile excavations.
• Calculate volume of material deposits, spoil piles or veins and amount of overburden to be removed.
• Survey, map and calculate volume of deposits, spoil piles, overburden to be removed.
• Survey civil construction work and verify layout and accuracy of work performed.
• Identify survey data needed for underground work per daily planning schedule.
• Prepare and verify survey plans and measures to ensure mining aligns with layouts.
• Draught layouts and DME plans; update mine survey plans.
• Use SharePoint to maintain document control and survey records.
• Accurate monthly and daily survey measurements and reporting.
• Issue survey layouts in conjunction with planning.
• Assist with project proposals, design layout and drill/blast areas.
• Communicate plans to project teams.
• Mitigate mine survey risks; comply with EMS policies and safety protocols.
• Self and team management aligned with EMS values
