Placements24 is seeking a Lead Sustainable Design Architect for our Mossel Bay office in the Western Cape. You will lead the integration of sustainable design across projects, mentor teams, and drive ambitious environmental goals with energy-efficient strategies.

You will oversee LCAs, specify sustainable materials, collaborate with engineers to improve performance, and pursue Green Star/LEED certifications while shaping greener communities.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Architecture with sustainable design specialization.
• 8+ years of architectural design experience; 4+ years in sustainability leadership.
• Professional accreditation in green building (Green Star/LEED).
• Proficiency in energy modeling software and sustainability analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead the integration of sustainable design across projects.
• Conduct LCAs and environmental impact studies.
• Specify sustainable materials, systems, and technologies.
• Collaborate with engineering to optimize performance and water use.
• Guide teams toward green certifications (Green Star, LEED).
• Develop and present sustainable concepts to clients.
• Stay updated on trends in sustainable architecture.
• Mentor junior architects in sustainable practices.
