Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in Sandton to lead the structural design of major commercial projects. You will work with architects, M&E consultants, and construction teams to deliver safe, innovative structures in Gauteng.

You will mentor junior staff, manage project timelines and budgets, and ensure quality deliverables from concept through construction. This role offers hybrid work with significant landmark projects.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering required.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer with ECSA (or equivalent).
• 10+ years of proven experience designing large commercial buildings.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design of complex commercial buildings (high-rise, office, retail).
• Perform advanced structural analysis using ETABS, SAP2000, RAM Structural System to ensure code compliance.
• Develop detailed drawings, specifications, and design reports for tender/construction.
