Job summary

wine.co.za is seeking an experienced Sous Chef or Senior CDP in Paarl to lead sections, uphold high culinary standards, and contribute across restaurant, casual dining and central production kitchens. You will mentor juniors, assist with menu development, and help manage costs in a busy, quality-driven kitchen.

The role requires 3–5+ years in quality restaurant kitchens, strong leadership, and the ability to thrive under pressure while growing into a senior kitchen leadership position.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in quality restaurant kitchens.
• Experience in a la carte cooking and section management.
• Calm under pressure; strong leadership and mentoring of juniors.
• Willing to grow and take on a senior role across the kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Lead and organise sections during service.
• Maintain high standards of cooking, presentation and consistency.
• Work across restaurant, casual dining and central production kitchens.
• Support and develop junior chefs.
• Assist with menu development, recipe costing and seasonal changes.
• Contribute to ordering, stock control, food cost and waste management.
• Take a senior role during busy services, events and periods of leave.
