Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Project Manager to lead solar energy development projects in Cape Town. You will manage all phases from conception to commissioning, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery and high quality.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, 5+ years in renewable energy project management, and experience with utility-scale solar. Proficiency in MS Project or Primavera P6 is expected.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, budgets, and schedules; ensure milestones are met.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders (contractors, regulators, suppliers).
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
• Oversee contractor performance and ensure adherence to safety regulations and project specifications.
• Report on project progress, financials, and KPIs to senior management.

About the Role

This role requires a dynamic individual to manage all phases of project lifecycles, from initial conception and feasibility studies through to construction and commissioning. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, playing a critical role in expanding the company's clean energy portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of the renewable energy sector, particularly within the South African context.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of solar energy projects , including site selection, permitting, design, procurement, and construction.
