M24 Logistics, a division of the Takealot Group is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Lead Software Engineer (WMS) to join our Cape Town team.

We are a renowned e-commerce logistics partner specialising in B2B and B2C warehousing and fulfilment solutions to the local and African markets. This position will report to the Development Manager.

Role overview

Responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of cutting-edge software solutions. You will lead a team of talented developers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code aimed at enhancing our warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership: Lead, mentor, and collaborate with a team of WMS developers to ensure high performance and continuous growth.
  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of WMS development projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide expert guidance in the architecture, design, and implementation of WMS solutions.
  • Innovation: Drive the adoption of new technologies and best practices to improve our WMS offerings and ensure competitive advantages.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the delivery of high-quality software through code reviews, testing, and adherence to development standards and methodologies.
  • Problem-Solving: Analyse complex problems and issues related to WMS and develop innovative solutions.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on WMS or logistics systems being advantageous
  • Experience with WMS, ERP, or supply chain management systems
  • Experience in leading and managing software development teams
  • Extensive experience with SQL databases and database management
  • Extensive experience with mobile development
Key Requirements
  • Strong knowledge in C#, SQL, .NET Core, MVC, RESTful API, JavaScript, Typescript, HTML, SASS, CSS, and GIT
  • Solid understanding of RESTful API development and microservices architecture
