Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Site Manager to oversee a key commercial construction project in Mossel Bay, Western Cape. You will lead on-site operations, coordinate trades, manage schedules, and enforce safety and quality standards to ensure timely delivery.

The role requires a National Diploma or Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, 7+ years in a supervisory site role, and strong leadership. A provident fund and performance-based bonus are offered.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in site management or similar supervisory role in construction.
• Experience managing commercial construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
• Excellent understanding of health and safety legislation (OHS Act).
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Able to read blueprints and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all on-site construction activities per plans and specs.
• Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, trades, and site personnel.
• Develop and implement site work schedules and ensure milestone completion.
• Enforce health, safety and environmental regulations; conduct safety inspections.
• Conduct quality control inspections to meet standards and specs.
• Manage site logistics: materials, equipment, and security.
• Report progress and resource needs to Project Manager and stakeholders.
• Resolve on-site issues promptly and effectively.
• Maintain daily logs, safety reports, and progress updates.
• Ensure compliance with building codes and local Mossel Bay regulations.
