Job summary

Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) is recruiting for a Lead SCM and Procurement Auditor on a fixed-term contract in the Internal Audit Division. The role reports to the Chief Audit Executive and focuses on end-to-end SCM reviews, including demand management, sourcing strategy, tender processes and contract close-out.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in a related field, 12–15 years in procurement or governance, and professional credentials such as CIPS or CIA.

Qualifications

• Matric is essential.
• Relevant degree in Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Finance, Engineering, Law, Internal Audit or a related field
• Minimum 12 to 15 years relevant experience in procurement, supply chain management, capital procurement, assurance, consulting or related governance work.
• Experience with PFMA-aligned governance, preferential procurement requirements, public-sector SCM frameworks and irregular expenditure risk is strongly preferred.
• Professional credentials such as CIPS, MCIPS, CIA, CA(SA), CFE, CPSM, NEC accreditation or equivalent are advantageous
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead risk-based assurance reviews of end-to-end SCM processes, including demand management, sourcing strategy, specification, bid evaluation, adjudication, award, contracting, supplier performance and contract close-out.
• Perform independent reviews of high-value and high-risk tenders, including tenders exceeding governance thresholds, and assess compliance with approved procurement frameworks, delegations and applicable public-sector requirements.
• Assess deviations, variations, emergency procurement, extensions, single-source or limited-bid processes, and identify potential irregular, fruitless or wasteful expenditure indicators for appropriate referral.
• Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of bid committees, segregation of duties, conflict-management controls, procurement governance and probity arrangements.
• Review capital procurement and infrastructure-related sourcing, including commercial evaluation, contract strategy, NEC/GCC or similar contracting environments where relevant.
• Assess contract management, supplier performance, service-level governance, claims, change control, payment certification and value-for-money risks.
• Perform root-cause analysis on repeat SCM findings, AGSA matters and control breakdowns, and recommend practical remedial actions.
• Support the Acting CAE / CAE on Board and Committee-directed SCM reviews, probity work and urgent procurement matters.
• Prepare concise, defensible working papers and executive-level reports, and present significant findings to senior management where required.
• Manage time and attendance.

Key Performance Output

Technical Skills and Experience

The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be required:

• Minimum 12 to 15 years relevant experience in procurement, supply chain management, capital procurement, assurance, consulting or related governance work.
