About the Role

Our client, a dynamic leader in the technology and services sector, is seeking a visionary Lead Project Manager to spearhead critical digital transformation initiatives. Based in Polokwane, Limpopo , this role is essential for driving innovation and modernizing our client's operational frameworks. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of complex, cross-functional projects that redefine business processes and enhance customer experiences. This is a hands-on position requiring exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of agile and waterfall methodologies. The successful candidate will have a proven history of successfully delivering large-scale digital projects, managing diverse teams, and navigating complex organizational landscapes. This role is integral to shaping the future of our client's digital capabilities in the Limpopo region.

Key Responsibilities

• Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for digital transformation programs.
• Lead, mentor, and manage project teams, ensuring effective collaboration and resource allocation.
• Implement and manage project execution according to established methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
• Monitor project performance, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to ensure project objectives are met.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and communications, providing clear and timely updates.
• Oversee risk management processes, identifying potential threats and developing mitigation strategies.
• Facilitate change management processes and ensure smooth adoption of new digital solutions.
• Coordinate with IT, business units, and external vendors to ensure seamless integration of new systems and processes.
• Conduct post-implementation reviews and capture lessons learned for continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A Master's degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with at least 7 years focused on digital transformation and IT-related projects.
• Demonstrated experience leading projects using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and a solid understanding of Waterfall.
• Proven ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects with significant budgets and timelines.
• Exceptional leadership, team management, and conflict resolution skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, MS Project, and Asana.
• Strong understanding of business process re-engineering and change management principles.
• Experience working within the services or technology sectors.
• Relevant certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certifications (CSM, SAFe) are highly advantageous.
