Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an accomplished Project Engineer to lead chemical processing projects in Richards Bay, overseeing from conception to completion and ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

You will manage resources, schedules, and risks while coordinating with engineering teams, contractors, and suppliers to meet project objectives. Strong PM skills and a chemical engineering background are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related.
• Minimum of 6 years of project management experience in chemical/process industry.
• Proven track record of delivering capital projects on time and budget.
• Familiarity with process design, equipment specification, and construction management.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of chemical processing projects, including planning, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules, and track progress against milestones.
• Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure project objectives are met.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Prepare project reports and communicate project status to senior management and stakeholders.
• Ensure effective handover of completed projects to operational teams.
