Placements24 is seeking a dynamic Project Engineer specializing in chemical processes to join our client’s Upington team. You will lead planning, execution, and commissioning of capital projects, ensuring safety, environmental compliance and alignment with company objectives.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and 4–7 years of experience in project engineering or management within the chemical sector, with strong skills in process design, P&ID development, budgeting,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering required.
4–7 years of project engineering or management experience in the chemical industry.
Proven track record delivering capital projects on scope, budget, and schedule.
Strong knowledge of process design, P&ID development, and equipment specifications.

Responsibilities

Manage chemical engineering projects from initiation to closure, on time and within budget.
Develop scopes, detailed designs and specs for new processes and plant modifications.
Coordinate with internal teams, vendors and contractors for seamless execution.
Oversee procurement of equipment and materials, managing supplier relationships.
Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
Conduct pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, ensuring smooth start-ups.
