Placements24 is seeking an experienced Lead Production Engineer to head production operations in Welkom, Free State. You will drive optimization to maximize oil and gas recovery, safeguard asset integrity, and mentor a team of engineers in a fast‑moving oil & gas environment.

You will guide artificial lift design, performance analysis, and project execution while ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in production engineering.
• Significant experience in Oil & Gas industry.
• Expertise in production optimization techniques, artificial lift systems, and well performance analysis.
• Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to manage a team.
• Proficiency with production software and data analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily production operations, ensuring oil and gas output targets are met safely.
• Develop and implement production optimization strategies, including artificial lift design and troubleshooting.
• Conduct performance analysis of wells and facilities, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
• Manage production-related projects, including workovers, facility upgrades, and new equipment installations.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the production engineering team.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and environmental standards for Oil & Gas production.
