Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Lead Production Engineer in George to oversee the production floor, drive lean improvements, and ensure safety, quality, and reliability of heavy industrial machinery.

The role leads engineers and technicians, develops strategies, manages budget, and partners with maintenance to implement process upgrades and training, with strong emphasis on Six Sigma/Kaizen and ERP/MRP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
• 8+ years of production engineering experience with 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Strong lean manufacturing knowledge including Six Sigma and Kaizen.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and develop a team of production engineers and technicians, driving continuous improvement.
• Develop and optimize production strategies and workflows to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations and implement robust floor safety protocols.
• Monitor output and quality metrics, address deviations promptly.
• Collaborate with engineering and maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and effective troubleshooting.
• Oversee new production technologies and process upgrades.
• Manage production budgets and allocate resources effectively.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide training and development for the team.
