Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Certified Nanny & Childminding Supervisor for a prominent household in Kimberley, Northern Cape. You will oversee daily routines, plan age-appropriate activities, ensure safety, and mentor junior childcare staff to uphold high standards of care.

The ideal candidate holds recognized nanny training, has at least 4 years of professional childcare experience, current First Aid/CPR, and a valid driver’s license. A background check is required and confidentiality is essential.

Qualifications

• Certified nanny training and 4+ years of professional childcare experience.
• Strong knowledge of child development stages and age-appropriate practices.
• Excellent communication with parents and ability to coordinate with other staff.
• Ability to stay calm and act decisively in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality childcare and supervision for children of various ages.
• Plan and implement engaging educational and recreational activities.
• Oversee daily routines including meals, naps, and hygiene.
• Ensure a safe and secure environment for all children under care.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's activities and development.
• Maintain a clean and organized space for children's activities and belongings.
• Potentially supervise and mentor other childcare providers within the household.
• Administer basic first aid if necessary and ensure safety protocols are followed.
• Transport children to and from activities or appointments as needed.
• Foster a positive and nurturing atmosphere supporting emotional and social growth.
