Job summary

Placements24 in Benoni is seeking a results-oriented Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to lead our maintenance team in ensuring reliable plant equipment performance. You will plan maintenance schedules, implement preventative and predictive programs, and supervise technicians, including training and performance reviews, to maintain safety and efficiency.

The ideal candidate has a trade qualification or Mechanical Engineering degree, 5+ years in mechanical maintenance with 2+ in supervision, and

Qualifications

Relevant trade qualification or engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, piping systems, and hydraulics.
Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Supervise and direct the daily activities of the mechanical maintenance team.
Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programs for all mechanical equipment.
Ensure timely and effective repair of machinery, including pumps, compressors, and turbines.
Manage spare parts inventory and procurement for mechanical components.
Conduct performance reviews and provide training and development for team members.
