Placements24 seeks a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to head the design team in Mossel Bay. You will lead mechanical design and development for renewable energy systems, mentoring engineers and ensuring manufacturability of innovative solutions.

Qualifications

Master’s degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering.
10+ years in mechanical design of complex energy systems.
Proven leadership of engineering teams and projects.
Expertise in CAD/CAE and advanced simulations.

Responsibilities

Lead the mechanical design process for new energy systems from concept to production readiness.
Develop and manage project technical specifications aligned with performance and regulatory standards.
Conduct advanced engineering analysis including structural, thermal and dynamic simulations.
Mentor and guide a team of mechanical engineers for innovation and technical rigor.
Collaborate with electrical, software, manufacturing teams for seamless product development.
Oversee prototyping, testing, validation and transition to manufacturing.
