About the Role

Our client seeks a visionary Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to spearhead their product development initiatives in Tembisa, Gauteng . Key Responsibilities

• Lead the conceptualization and detailed design of new mechanical products, from initial ideation through to production launch.
• Oversee and conduct complex engineering analysis, including stress, thermal, and vibration simulations, to validate designs.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation packages.
• Manage a team of mechanical engineers, providing technical guidance, performance feedback, and professional development support.
• Interface with manufacturing, supply chain, and product management to ensure design for manufacturability and assembly (DFMA).
• Champion best practices in mechanical design, drafting standards, and the adoption of new design technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical product design, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Expertise in 3D parametric modeling software (e.g., PTC Creo, Siemens NX) and advanced simulation tools.
