Placements24 seeks a Lead Mechanical Engineer, automation specialist, to guide an engineering team in Centurion. You will design and implement advanced automated systems that enhance efficiency and output.
You’ll oversee cross-disciplinary integration, manage projects end-to-end, mentor staff, and partner with production and R&D to drive automation opportunities in a world-class facility.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with automation focus.
- 10+ years in mechanical engineering with at least 5 years in a lead role focused on automation.
- In-depth knowledge of robotics, PLC systems, and control engineering principles.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAE software and simulation tools for automation design.
- Proven track record managing complex automation projects end-to-end.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of sophisticated automation systems and machinery.
- Oversee the integration of mechanical, electrical, and control systems to ensure seamless operation of automated processes.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively, ensuring successful project delivery.
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and performance analyses for proposed automation solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the mechanical engineering team, fostering skill development and high performance.
- Collaborate with production and R&D teams to identify areas for automation and process improvement.
