Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Lead Industrial Engineer to drive automation and technology integration in Sandton, Gauteng. You will oversee strategy and implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies to boost productivity, quality and safety.

You will lead a team of engineers, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and guide vendors to select, deploy, and optimize automated solutions in a major enterprise.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in industrial engineering with automation focus.
• Proven track record delivering complex automation projects.
• Strong understanding of PLCs, HMIs, and industrial controls.
• Experience with Industry 4.0 and smart factory concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the automation strategy for manufacturing and operations.
• Lead selection, justification, and deployment of robotic systems and technologies.
• Manage cross-functional project teams through lifecycle within budget.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers.
• Conduct ROI analyses and feasibility studies for automation initiatives.
• Collaborate with IT and engineering to integrate systems with existing infrastructure.
