Job summary

Hospitality & Outdoor in Franschhoek, South Africa, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead the upkeep, repairs and presentation of the estate. This hands‑on role demands proactive leadership to ensure facilities are pristine and guest experiences are seamless.

You will oversee plumbing, electrical, carpentry and building tasks, supervise maintenance staff, coordinate approved contractors, and maintain safety and cost controls.

Qualifications

• Matric qualification or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 years’ maintenance experience in a hotel, lodge, wine estate, resort or similar hospitality environment.
• Previous supervisory experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections and perform maintenance, repairs, fault finding, and preventative maintenance throughout the property.
• Supervise maintenance staff, allocate daily tasks, monitor performance, and ensure work is completed to required standards.
• Coordinate approved contractors and service providers while maintaining accurate maintenance records and job cards.
• Perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, hardware, and general building maintenance tasks.
• Assist with pumps, generators, air-conditioning systems, refrigeration systems, pool equipment, and related infrastructure.
• Maintain stock levels, tools, equipment, safety standards, and departmental cost control measures.
• Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a luxury hospitality environment.
