Placements24 in Kimberley is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance operations for a large fleet of heavy machinery. The role requires a strong background in mechanical or electrical maintenance, leadership, and a solid understanding of preventative and corrective maintenance strategies.

You will supervise technicians, develop maintenance schedules, diagnose issues, manage parts inventory, keep records, and ensure health and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Relevant trade qualification or equivalent experience in maintenance.
• Minimum 5 years of experience maintaining heavy machinery.
• Proven supervisory or leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems and powertrains.
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics; high safety standards.
• On-site Kimberley work and site schedule adherence.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of maintenance technicians and mechanics.
• Develop, implement and manage preventive maintenance schedules for heavy machinery.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues.
• Perform or oversee complex repairs on various machinery types.
• Ensure spare parts availability and manage inventory for the dept.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and generate equipment reports.
• Ensure health, safety and environmental compliance in the workshop.
• Train and mentor maintenance staff to uphold safety and technical excellence.
• Collaborate with operations and procurement to meet uptime targets.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues before breakdowns.
