Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Lead Installation Engineer to oversee complex installation projects in Cape Town, Western Cape. You will manage the entire lifecycle from planning to commissioning, leading a team and coordinating with clients and vendors to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Engineering and 8+ years in installation project management, including 3+ years in a lead role. Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera and CAD is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive installation project management experience.
• At least 3 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor installation technicians and engineers.
• Develop detailed project plans with scope, timelines and budgets.
• Oversee installation activities ensuring safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct site surveys and mitigate potential challenges.
• Liaise with clients, vendors and internal teams on objectives.
• Review drawings and procedures; implement improvements as needed.
• Manage project risks and ensure timely delivery and handover.
• Coordinate procurement and utilization of equipment and materials.
• Oversee commissioning, testing and client acceptance.
• Prepare progress reports for senior management.
