Placements24 is seeking an experienced Lead Installation Engineer to oversee complex installation projects in Cape Town, Western Cape. You will manage the entire lifecycle from planning to commissioning, leading a team and coordinating with clients and vendors to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Engineering and 8+ years in installation project management, including 3+ years in a lead role. Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera and CAD is required.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Installation Engineer to oversee and manage complex installation projects in Cape Town, Western Cape. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of installations, from initial planning and design validation to final commissioning and handover. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of installation technicians and engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and budget management for all installations in Cape Town.
• Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of all installation activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
• Conduct site surveys and assessments to identify potential challenges and develop mitigation strategies.
• Liaise effectively with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure clear communication and alignment on project objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil) or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in installation project management, with at least 3 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Demonstrated success in managing large-scale, complex installation projects from inception to completion.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, installation methodologies, and relevant industry standards.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and motivational skills.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and CAD software.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop effective solutions.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations pertinent to installation projects in South Africa.
• Willingness to travel within the Western Cape region as required.
