Placements24 invites a results-driven Lead Industrial Engineer with Automation expertise to join our client in Centurion, Gauteng. This hybrid role focuses on leading automation projects to boost manufacturing efficiency through advanced technologies.

You will design, implement, and oversee automation initiatives, mentor engineers, and collaborate with IT and operations to ensure seamless integration and measurable performance gains.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years in industrial engineering with at least 5 years in automation/robotics.
• Proven track record leading complex engineering projects from concept to completion.
• Experience with PLC programming, SCADA, and industrial control systems.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and production workflows.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills; able to work in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of automated systems and processes within manufacturing facilities.
• Analyze production data to identify areas suitable for automation and robotic integration.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, budget, and timelines, for automation initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and IT teams to ensure seamless system integration and functionality.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff.
• Oversee the testing, commissioning, and validation of automated equipment and systems, ensuring optimal performance.
