Qualifications

• Registered Professional Architect with SACAP.
• 9+ years post-registration experience in heritage/conservation/adaptive reuse.
• Experience managing heritage projects and approvals processes.
• Knowledge of historical materials, conservation techniques, and legislation.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit; digital documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design and management of heritage conservation and adaptive reuse projects.
• Conduct thorough condition assessments and historical research of heritage buildings.
• Develop conservation strategies and detailed designs for restoration and adaptation.
• Liaise with heritage authorities and councils to obtain approvals.
• Manage project teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure faithful execution.
• Prepare documentation including heritage impact assessments and conservation plans.
• Ensure compliance with national and international heritage charters and guidelines.
• Advise clients on heritage matters, sustainability integration, and adaptive reuse.
• Mentor junior architects and heritage specialists within the practice.
• Stay updated on latest research and methodologies in heritage conservation.
